| Over the last two years, the Sorata Foundation has focused its efforts in supporting some of the most immediate needs of Puntiti. The following was accomplished thanks to your donations and the work of the Sorata volunteers:
- 2 patient lifts to mobilize the Puntiti children from their beds to the wheelchairs, and from the wheelchairs to the bath tubs and back.
- Wheelchairs and a shower chair
- Clothing
- School supplies
- Therapeutic games
- An industrial clothes dryer to handle the daily drying needs of the Center
- Replaced the roof of the main hall. The roof was leaking causing flooding in the classrooms during the rainy season. The flooding became a major health issue at the Center.
- We remodeled 7 bathrooms in the Puntiti facility. These bathrooms were not originally designed for wheelchair access and handling of children with physical limitations. The remodeled bathrooms can no accommodate the bathroom needs of children with severe limitations.
- Sorata donates close to half of the disposable diaper needs of the Center on a monthly basis. We can use your continued help in this area. The cost of diapers per child per month is $10. You additional donations can help us reach our goal of covering 100% of the disposable diaper needs of the Center.
With the funds from the Jach’a Mallku event, we are planning to remodel additional bathrooms in the Puntiti Center (they have 22 in total). Your kind donations will allow us to make continue to help the children of Puntiti. Thank you so much for your support.
